Follow the guidebook if that doesn't work have him try his own way. There are no cheats for any Final Fantasy games.

Go to gamefaqs.com. This is the most complete video game site out there. Different people post their versions of walkthroughs and cheats for every game out there. I just looked at FFXII and there are so many posts there for walkthroughs and specific characters, bosses, gambit system, etc. that you cant go wrong. Also, there are message boards, so if by some reason you cant find it, post a question on the board and someone will answer it right away. This is the best web stie for anything video game related hands down. Every game walkthrough they have details the game much better than the guide. The only drawback is that it is all in text, but that is a small pric to pay for answers. Trust me, you will not go wrong with this site. I use it all of the time.

If he has the guidebook it sounds like the problem is probably his level, he will need to do some grinding and try again.

well.. i go to google, type in Final FantasyXII cheats for whatever Platform you have and click on the sites.. see what comes up.. ny brothers a huge playstation player and it comes in handy, good luck

if no cheat wepsite help i just go back and fight other monsters and train to get lvs and get up stats

have you tried Cheatcodes.com? there ar cheatcodes, FAQ's, tips, And even walkthru's.
