the stomach is mostly made up of multiple veins and components on the inside. they actually supply the stomach with the 'ingredients' needed to digest the food, such as hydrochloric acid and various types of enzymes. theses would form a uneven, noodly like appearance inside the stomach. as far as i can see, these indentations do not really help with 'churning'.

The stomach is stretchy, so that you can eat a lot. The size and shape of the stomach varies. Peristalsis, moves the whole digestive tract to churn the food.

Somewhat similar the three types of muscles longitudinal, circular and oblique muscles play an important role in churning the food by the process called peristalysis.

Go to your butcher and ask for some tripe. its a stomach! a cows, yes but the same as ours.
