Generally when you hear "old" Las Vegas they are talking about downtown.
downtown is home to "The Fremont Street Experience" - One of the great free spectacles in LV. Every hour after dark the 4 block long 12.5 million lights come to life, >worlds largest big screen< They usually have at least one band set up on the street.

The Golden Gate Hotel in downtown LV is the oldest hotel casino in Las Vegas, it opened in 1906, their .99c shrimp cocktails are world famous and one of the great bargains in all of LV...
Plaza Hotel - If you watched "Back to The Future II" this was the hotel used in the movie.
Main Street Station - My personal favorite, and home to a section of the Berlin Wall, the Bronze Doors and Facade from the Royal Bank of Kuwait, several rail cars from the golden age of rail travel, awesome chandeliers from all over the world, fireplace from Preswick Castle, and many-many more. The Garden Court buffet, 777 Restaurant and Brewery and Pullman Grille make MSS a great place to eat...Their Buffet is by far the best value downtown and one of the very best in all of Las Vegas..
Vegas Club - They have a great sports memorabilia collection
California - Hawaiian theme
Golden Nugget - four star-five diamond hotel - very classy - love the new pool - collection of gold nuggets.
The Horseshoe - original home of the World Series of Poker -
Four Queens -
Fremont - their seafood buffet on Tue/Fri/Sun nights is the best value seafood buffet in town
Lady Luck - closed for renovation
Fitzgeralds - tallest hotel downtown, nice place to stay and play
Golden Spike - This place is more joke than anything - I'm sure there is a photo of the Gold Spike in the dictionary next to the word awful..Also known for the "copper mine" on of the last places you can truely play "penny" slots, these are the drop one penny in at a time kind, not the shove a $100 bill in and play $3 per spin "penny" slots. They even have penny video poker.
The El Cortez - about two blocks from the main hotel cluster, on Fremont street, a nice, inexpensive place to stay with one of the very best restaurants in all downtown.

The "Old Strip" is Downtown Las Vegas on Fremont Street...The Hotels are older, but nice enough in most cases...and the best thing about Fremont street is you can walk easily from Casino to Casino......I've only been to Vegas twice, but I love Downtown on Fremont Street...I feel safe and at home there, and I like it that it doesn't matter where I stay , or where I play...when I get tired I can be back at my hotel or room in about 5 to 10 minutes walking time....Good food, and good beds, at a cheaper price, means more to gamble with.......... I have no desire to stay on the new Strip at any of the big Hotels...they are nice to visit once in awhile, but I am more comfortable downtown on Fremont Street.

Venetian would not have Buffet. i admire TI's buffet inexpensive and engaging =) Ceasar's Palace's buffet sucks yuck would not bypass back back. Paris buffet is unique you will possibly desire to attempt it a minimum of as quickly as. yet uncertain in case you nevertheless can e book a room while you're going for this coming long weekend coz i've got checked and that they are all booked. So now i've got booked Bellagio, the main suitable of all of them. And the Buffet is properly stable, too. the only element is prepare to attend approximately an hour in the previous entering into =( in case you have not got finances, evaluate Bellagio. I promise you basically isn't disillusioned. And this is on the midsection of the strip maximum suitable region!!! have relaxing! see you in Vegas quickly!~

You are referring to Freemont Street. Its pretty cool...not as big and glitzy as Las Vegas Blvd...
