I purchased a replacement fuel pump for a Ford 51 flathead 6. The original inlet connection was 1/8"MPT but the replacement pump has a larger port but 1/4"MPT will not work. Appears to be a different thread. The fuel pump outlet line will fill correctly, so I will describe it. The steel fuel line has a swivel type thread with a compression style fitting on the tubing end. The line is 1/4". Any ideas on what to call this fitting? 1/4" compression male maybe? I cannot find such a fitting at the local auto parts store.

I did an similar aspect. ok, the restoration is elementary. decrease the gasoline pipe on the hollow, insert some plastic gasoline ling with 2 clamps and the interest is finished. you need to flare the top, besides the undeniable fact that that is not any longer that extreme. best of success. can you use a reducer or can you cut the line and use a compression fitting.what about taking your fuel pump into the parts store and get a fitting to screw into it and also fit the line.
