Use the thumb rule that 10 m of water column results in
1 kg/cm2 of pressure and 1 kg/cm2 is equivalent to 1 atmospheric pressure. So at a depth of 1000m in ocean, you will have 100 times the atmospheric pressure.

It's much simpler than that.

Pressure at the ocean surface is 1 bar (some people say 1 atm).
Water is much denser than air, so pressure increases by an additional 1 bar for every 10 meters of depth.

The formula is
depth (in meters) / 10 +1

For your question
100/10 = 100 + 1

Pressure is 101 Bar

Water pressure increases by 14.3 Lbs per square inch every 3 meters. Do the math.

(Pure) Water density = 1,000 kg/m³ (1 metre depth)

The base of 1 m³ = 100 x 100 = 10,000 cm²

Pressure = 1,000,000 g ÷ 10,000 cm² = 100 g/cm²

So 1 meter depth exerts 100 g/cm²

1,000 metres depth = 1,000 x 100 g/cm² = 100,000 g/cm²

At 1,000 metres, pressure will be around 100 kg/cm²

Sea water will exert a little more pressure ... but, who cares at that depth ?
