if 3/8 of them are dogs how many of them are not dogs

when 3/8 of animals are dog then 1-3/8=5/8 are not dog then
70*5/8=43.75 but animals can not state in fractions or decimals then it is better to accept 43 or by only mathematical rounding we get 44. remeber not to cut that pour animals to .75 slices , they will be killed undoubtfully. good luck

70 divided by 8 = 8.75 now do this either way...8.75 is 1/8 multiply by 3 or 26.25 are dogs.... but you can't have .25 of a dog so its 26 dogs 70-26 = 44 other animals

or 8.75 x 5 = 43.75 round up to 44

Technically 5/8 multiplied by 70 gives 43.75, I would say 44 animals, although it could be 43
