Keeping a team movitvated is not easy. That is why not everyone can be in a management position. Set performance goals and provide regular feedback and praise to your employees. Even if they are doing the same thing every week, find something to praise. For example, you could say that you are very happy with an employee's consistent performance. I like the idea of time off but I wouldn't give it to just one person because if the same person wins each week then eventually no one will care. Instead, I would make it a group contingency. "If we meet our performance goals for the week we can leave one hour early on Friday."
I know you are thinking its the routine that is getting to them, but many of us do things quite regularly and never get sick of them. Think about people that are on bowling leagues for 20 years or professional basketball players. They are doing the same thing each time. Rolling a ball down a lane and trying to knock down pins or trying to get a ball in a basket. The thing that makes it fun is the feedback we get and the team aspects of the games. Would any of us bowl or play any other sport if there was no score, if we could never tell if we bowled a perfect game or did better than last week? No. Feedback works miracles.

try this..order some vending machines..most companies will put thier machines in for freeand price it so you also make a profit.for instance, the company plans to collect .50 per can of soda, you charge $1.00 per can..at the end of the month, the person with the most productivity wins all the profits..that way they get a bonus and it dont cost you anything.or get a gift card good for dinner for two somewhere, and they can win that..or the most productive person gets to be boss for a week..get creative and give them something to work for.even a day off with pay.good luck.

Goal setting works great for motivation, but there has to something in it for them.
I think team goals better than individual, so everyone will pull together.
I set a weekly production goal...if it's met, we leave early Friday afternoon.
