Success as a word in our modern culture refers to whether someone drives a BMW Z5 and can afford fab holidays in luxury locations. What a load of trivial Western bullshit! I spent (and would be lying if I said I've stopped totally) many years trying to get a better car, a better job, more money to pay off my spiralling overdraft (etc.). Success in life means that you can take time to watch the sunrise and not feel a failure because you haven't won the lottery. You can be around children and have them like you because they are insightful and can see that you are genuine and have no hidden agenda. Success is not being scared of death and dying, but instead, breathing in life at every opportunity. To be able to touch someone in pain, to be able to hug someone with AIDS and feel compassion and not revulsion and fear, to forgive 'all your tresapasses and all those who've trespassed against you' (without needing to cling onto some religious fear-based crap in order to feel whole), to be able to laugh in the face of adversity and march on in times of trouble, to make the world a better place for your having been in it. To touch the soul of others and be able to feel what they feel. To treat all animals with love and respect and see those who are vulnerable as our brothers and sisters rather than a pain in the **** of society. These things make someone successful. The most important thing is to realise that life is not random; we are all here to fulfil soul contracts that we made before we were put here and should get on with the business of learning, healing and helping rather than hating, lying and feeling fear. What does that kind of success have to do with some rich guy in a suit who has no understanding of why he was put on this earth in the first place? Sometimes, you have to sit dowm, close your eyes and think 'What is the point of me? Why am I even here? What is my purpose?'. When you get an idea of the answer; that is as close to success as you'll ever get. Have a great weekend, love Stephanie. x

The most important value in judging the success of a life could be summed up in two questions:
"How many people—past, present and future—did I hurt, and how badly?"
"How many people—past, present and future—did I help, and how much?" \0/
