yes, Amalie, I have long thought I had add (but not the adhd). I do have the ability to focus long and hard but am often quite distractable..for instance go to library to do a lesson plan when I was student teacher..have so many ideas..I guit one and moe to next and then stop that and move to next as idea hits and then work on them all and make them all REAL detailed and comprehensive and then leave with 7 lessons plans when I only needed one..stuff like that. I did go to my library website and reserve that book. Thanks

in all truth, christy, I know I am highly anzious but I am fearful of medical drugs and refuse to take them especially when they involve the brain and with good reason due to things I have read and bad reactions to antidepressants. But I am happy it worked for you..actually now that I think about it I was put on klonpin once in combiation with some other drugs but forget how it affected me.

I'm reading the book I suspect you need: Women with attention deficit disorder by Sari Solden.

If you battle to get through normal routines because you easily get distracted, this might be your problem. Believe me, it's a huge relief when you find out what is causing you to feel the way you do and that you can learn to handle it. There are loads of websites about it. Just google 'women with add' or 'attention deficit disorder'.

Good luck, and don't give up!

Maybe you've worked your brain too hard. Try doing yoga and breathing excercises.... trust me it really does help. It makes your mind focus on one thing and concentrate and help you organize yourself. I've had this problem many times especially when I'm supposed to be working a lot or studying but find that I'm rather behind in things.

Find something new and different that really cheers you up - like read a new kind of book etc, take up a new hobby or sport.

Don't work yourself up thinking of things you have to do and haven't done yet. First relax your mind. Then make a list of things you are supposed to be doing and tackle them one by one.

The best strategy I could give you is exercise, though. It activates your body and gives you more energy, which will encourage you to do more rather than sit and think and worry. You can activate the neurons in your brain by patting the top of your head gently with the flat of your palm. This is a yoga exercise. Or just simply take a long walk or jog regularly without too much exertion.

anything i could suggest here would earn me a violation notice. so, try to remember that as long as life exists, the possibilities are endless. and what is wrong with thinking too much anyways? i say it means that you'll never get bored.

it sounds like you might need to go to a doctor for some anxiety pills, like klonopin or Valium.I used to have alot of fears untill i was put on klonopin.
