Hun, sometimes diet and exercise in your body isn't enough....Like me...The doctor actually put me on metformin which is a diabetic generaic for glucophage meds....It just helps out level your hormones...THIS IS NOT A FERTILITY drug by any mean and it doesnt make you produce any more eggs or anything like that...It just helps with leveling out the unbalenced hormones and makes your insulin work a little better...BUT a majority of people who take metformin do become pregnant within a few months of taking it. IT helps straighten out your hormones and with the proper diet and so forth I guess your body is easily more active to conceive. I know how fusterating it is, but maybe you should try that if you havne't already...I also know how depressing it is for your body not to conceive naturally...I feel your pain and i'm sorry...If i'm not pregnany by april I am going to start clomid its a cheap pill that is suppose to help speed things up with producing eggs. Time is running out.

You are ovualting, doing it on ovulation days right??? That is the most important part of conceiving a child.

Good luck and i'm sorry for your pain

With PCOS, we often don't ovulate regularly, and without ovulation, we can't get pregnant. Regular exercise and diet are great, but because the hormone signals aren't being sent properly, it's very difficult to ovulate or know when we're going and therefore get pregnant. The pills that many people take for PCOS are drugs like Metformin (glucophage) which help our bodies regulate insulin better and because of that it improves our balance of estrogen and testosterone, and makes us ovulate and have regular menstrual cycles. You may want to try charting your cycles, to see if you're ovulating regularly, and talking to a gynecologist or reproductive endocrinologist who can help figure out the best way to get you pregnant.

I have PCOS too. Only I was diagnosed two years ago with it. I'm now 29. With my first pregnancy we used infertility treatments. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy! When we started hoping for another one we decided to forgo fertility treatments and try OvaCue.

It's basically like basal body temping. Where you take your temp then chart throughout the cycle. Except no charting! I hated that. You take your temp same time every morning before getting outta bed. It calculates your peak day. Tells you in advance when you are going to be most fertile so you can get a head start.

The first month testing it we became pregnant!! I'm now 20 weeks. Check out their site and more importantly their testimonials.

I have had pcos and I can say you can get pregnant.(I did and have a happy 11 month old). I charted on a fertility charting website, to get an idea of where my cycle was, and used opks.

Sorry to say this but you may want to consider going and having a great conversation with a good OB/GYN or an Reproductive specialist. He/she may tell you to chart, or several other ideas. They have lots of ideas. I don't usually like to go to docs for anything but this is well worth it if I know I can get pregnant faster this way.

What worked for me was a combination of diet, activity and medication to induce ovulation. plus charting sealed the deal.(we had a timing issue as well.).

I plan on ttc again in another month and my hubby and I are actually looking forward to it (now that we know what this ride is like).

Be blessed and good luck

There are a bunch of free fertility web pages you can go to that have more info on natural fertility. Fertilityfriend.com and WebMd are great places to ask for help too.
