i recently bought a car and i'd like to learn about the basics of car mechanics in order to feel more confident to try to fix stuff in my car as it is a used one!. i know o about mechanics...and i think it's very important to know at least a little about mechanics!.

you can get the maintence tips from http://www.partsamerica.com/ and they'll have some tips on maintence like oil changes, belt changes, and the easier things to do. But for bigger things you'll want to pick up a manual at your local autostore like, Shucks, Checker, or Napa and find the manual for your specific car and it'll have information on how to do information on almost everything you can on your car or truck...

don't do it I have noticed once you start doing these kind of things, you end up doing them all your life. Get a good job and let someone else do this kind of work. The days of the shade tree mechanic is rapidly coming to an end.
