does this really annoy anyone else? aren't we supposed to be living in an age of equality? this suggests to me that every other night mum should be in the kitchen cooking... i accept that in some households it is mum who does all the cooking, but this shouldn't be automatically expected to be the norm anymore.

i just don't see how this out dated advertising can appeal to anyone.

Yes, Aria...somewhat patronising - but smiled at you wondering of it's appeal - come...I'd say at least 75% of UK ads. use sexes (or rather the 'rules' thereof - new and old) to get us buying into their supposed promises! The word 'bucket' is a turn off as well!
But tell me - seen some ads. which show lasses running rings round lads, along with the 'stupid men' hints of others...what do you think of them - I think they're hilarious, but notice how vexed men can get at them. Was reading some woman's mag a few weeks ago, with a very large number squealing that they would have the sound turned up on adverts if there were more 'Oh God...what's he up to now' ads. on telly.
Perhaps KFC are rubbing up to socio-economic C2DE's...single mums and all that jazz. People like you might be against it, but this is the way they make their money - plug at people who would turn their noses up at healthy foods.

if a family eatsa that bucket of grease once a week, they will all end up the heavygolightly family, your right, though, more than ever, due to work patterns, a lot of dads are making dinner(albeit a bit badly...joking guys), so KFC are being stereotypical, plus a family bucket has no veg and doesnt keep u full for long, after poor mom has driven to the drivethru, bet u she's in the kitchen later on, making toast and cheese x

I was moaning to my husband about this ad yesterday! In our house, first person home cooks dinner so I find the whole KFC concept stereotypical and patronising. Chefs night off would be more appropriate- otherwise another generation of kids will grow up thinking it's womens work...

It really annoys me...also, in the commercial that they run here the deal is for a bucket with 3 different choices--and Mom (who's getting the night off, remember) doesn't get one.

Blech. I don't eat there anyway for health and ethical reasons, but their ads leave much to be desired.

No. no longer to any extent further, damnit! all of them used to. i've got no longer seen one in each of those in years. I enjoyed them too, nevertheless they have no longer something on the automobile physique save with a slowly rotating sign featuring a of course 70s automobile all smashed up on one section and thoroughly pristine on the different. I used to experience the bus previous that one each morning and for some reason i myself appeared forward to it, to the element that i became into satisfied if the bus have been given stopped on the sunshine. The sign remains there - ask your self of wonders - and that i nevertheless like it. Wow, ought to i'm getting lots greater off subject count?

Your question is difficult to follow but...

Its up to your mum to make sure she isnt the only one doing the cooking. You could try cooking yourself and not wait for someone else to pick up the slack or buy kfc

If you like (or even don't) KFC buckets, check out the music of BUCKETHEAD. If you like hard-driving, metallic-like rock he's great. A virtuosic guitarist who dons a mask, wig, and inverted KFC bucket on his head, I thought it was a joke or a gimmick but HE ROCKS!.

i totally agree, i never thought of it like that before, and the fact they give you dispose able plates and cutlery is saying that we should be the ones washing up after every meal. that just takes the mick. they should have called it the 'cooks' night off bucket' or the 'parents night off bucket' well said!

i feel you and i'm not going to take it anymore. let's contact the corporate offices and ask for a more politically correct depiction of modern households. men and kids cook not only for themselves, but for an entire family also. that commercial ticked me off too. power to the mamas!
