whats the law in the uk .on copying old picture postcards. we are talking of post cards before 1950.

You need to contact the gallery or whowever owns the pictures. The people who made the original postcards would have had a copyright or asked for permission, if it is a scenic view, ask the local council. Always acknoledge that permission has been given under the image you use.

Published works remain in copyright throughout the author's lifetime and for a further 70 years after his/her death.
