Both are cool. Try to learn both if you get chance.
If not, then go for Sax because it creates wonderful music and there are not many people to play Sax..

Otherwise you must go for violin. It creates most touchy music.

All the best.

If you want to expand your music knowledge, piano is the logical choice. Here's why:

1. If you're an alto or soprano, you will learn the bass clef. If you're a bass, baritone, or tenor, you'll learn the treble clef. (Piano uses both bass and treble clef.)

2. If you want to write your own music, learning piano will be a HUGE advantage. Almost every composer has played or does play piano.

3. Learning piano will help immensely when you start learning music theory. Learning saxophone requires you to read music horizontally, while piano requires you to read horizontally and vertically. This will help if you ever take on the task of reading and/or analyzing scores.

4. You can play piano and sing simultaneously. This is a little harder with a sax.

Saxophone is wonderful instrument, and I don't discourage you from learning it. I am a trombone player and when I learned piano, it made me more complete as musician.

I hope this has given you some insight on the matter.

Piano. You will learn a lot more about vertical harmonies and progressions that, on instruments such as sax or voice, can only be produced through ensembles. Piano is also a valuable skill to have when teaching voice. For this reason, most university-level vocal performance programs also require their students to fulfill a basic piano proficiency requirement.

If you are a prolific singer go with Piano. That way you are able to sing and play at the same time. Not to mention it is one of the more romantic instruments. But being a musician. I say learn them all. What can go wrong.

My cousin can play sax, piano, all guitars, drums, flute, french horn, banjo, the recorder, organ, trumpet and bass as in the big stringed instrument. I think it would benefit you to learn both.
