I'm a die-hard Sims 2 fan!
I have all the expansion packs to date. My video card is a ATI Mobility Radeon 9700. I'm running a laptop.
The card works pretty darn good for the game as long as I don't clog the game up with a ton of custom content. And I am running ALL the expansion packs. So, it is not a bad choice.
But, I have a feeling that I will need to upgrade after Sims 2 Seasons comes out.
If you are looking for a good video card for playing games then expect to pay at least 150 - 200. And that is on the cheap end.
You will get by on a cheap video card if you only want to play Sims 2 without expansions.
Try looking on Ebay. You might get a good deal on a good card.
Have fun with the Sims!
