Chinese New Year?

I have no clue and I live in the USA.
You maybe thinking of Chinese New Year. It is on that date this year, but changes every year and is not only a US holiday.
Feb 12 is 1 of the presidents birthday (Abraham Lincoln).
Feb 14 Valentine's Day
Feb 19 is the day this year is Presidents Day (that is always the third Monday of the month) and therefore it changes every year.
Feb 22 is another presidents birthday (George Washington)
So, instead of celebrating each presidents birthday separately all of the presidents are celebrated on Presidents Day.

John Travolta was born? (1954)
or
Pamela Anderson & Tommy Lee got Married. (1995)
or
Howard Stern transmits his first radio show. (1993)

..but if you're talking about 2007, maybe its because its the 1st day of the Chinese new Year. (Year of the Dog) Though, that day changes each year:
2005 - Feb. 9
2006 - Jan. 29
2007 - Feb. 18
2008 - Feb. 7
2009 - Jan. 26
2010 - Feb. 14
