Because they are lazy. Talking is also much more personal. One on one in the flesh is more real life. The internet and texting has made relationships more superficial. For me, a real relationship is done the old fashioned way. Which in actuality is more real and more rewarding.

most people dont like talking on the phone, also they can see what they want to say in a txt so its easier to get the point accross, and some of the time txts are free, so its cheaper too

could be many reasons - shyness, more comfortable texting. i know i am, could be in a bad situation not good time to talk... ask if u wanna know dont be scared
