Yes. My parents were on opposite ends of the political spectrum, so I got to hear both sides. I discovered later that my political affiliation was Libertarian.

My family is mostly Republican but as I became educated on politics and freedoms, I found myself transferring more towards to libertarian party. They fall in line with almost every belief I have of a "free nation." I truly believe now that governments cause more harm and only ruin the production system, the only thing in history to help pull the poor people up along with the rich!

Have almost the exact same political values as my diehard democrat parents, but generally vote republican about 80% because I priortize the same values differently. Kinda feel everybodys this way when choosing political parties we all have alot of the same values. We just cling to a couple biggies that define us.

I was born and raised in a large northeastern city, democrats ruled and I was one for many years. Today I am registered Independent and vote the person, not the party. Party politics makes people sheep and they stop thinking, questioning.

My home is still Republican. I went through the phase of Liberalism during college but when someone realizes that what is good for the family and safety the clear choice is Republican.

My political view is similar to my parent 's "view" in some aspects. But it is not the same! In some other matters it is totally the opposite! Some times because my parent 's view its not truly an answer to anything. Some times because has a little "something" from them in order to have the control in our domestic confrontations.

Many Dems jumped ship when ol' Jimmy took Office, he almost ruined this country single handed! Gas lines for blocks and at 3 times the cost, double digit; inflation, interest rates and unemployment. Minimum wage $1.65 and you could only get gas on even or odd days depending on your license plate number, and you would wait sometimes hours to get it.

I came around full circle. I was raised Republican, went to college and became "liberal", then grew up and switched back. At least my being Republican now is based on experience and knowledge, whereas my "liberal" days were simly based on ignorance.

Women got the vote the year my mother was born but I don't recall her ever voting. I suspect she'd have voted left. If my father voted I don't know about it, I suspect he'd have been more the sort to ***** and rant about things he didn't participate in by voting - which would have been Republican.
I voted as soon as I could and as often as cyclical opportunities allow me.
