Hi handsome Gar,

Because cameras have got a nasty jealous streak, they can't bear it if the subject looks good, it throws out shadows and extends the look of the nose.
It has been programmed to make you look like the kind of guy we wouldn't buy a car from. But hell! you look pretty good to me!!!

* ##**# cameras, don't you fret now, HE LOOKS GOOD, DOESN'T HE GUYS?

A camera can lie!

To be blunt you may just be ugly, however, every once in a while do you see a photograph you really like?

Photographs are manipulations of light. So depending on where the photographer stands (too close) or angle (too far below) will distort the image we see of ourselves.

Lighting conditions also play a big factor. With a really brightly lit room its a lot more difficult to see blemishes and wrinkes. Even where the flash is located on a camera can make or break the way you look. That's why celebs hate paparazzi photographing them when they aren't done up...because they look "normal" or ugly.

Photographs we see in magazines are heavily cleaned up. Bags under eyes can be easily removed in 5 minutes, pores on our noses gone. Makeup...well makeup hides a lot of things.

While you may be ugly...the term "photograph's never lie" is a myth!

A worthy question as high up as "What is the meaning of life?" and "Is there a god?"

The camera does indeed never lie but sometimes it doesn't always tell the truth... it show for that split second how one looks but cannot convey how one feels or what happened before/next!

Try and laugh naturally in your photos, or make sure your eyes are properly open and your chin is up, nothing worse than squinting with a new double chin... some people just don't photograph well though, remember that episode of Friends with Monica and Chandler's engagement photos? For non-photogenics everywhere!!

Cameras just show what you physically look like. There's a lot to be said for how we move, how we talk and act etc.

Plus, you are biased about images of yourself. Impossible not to be. Its a self confidence thing as much as it is dots of ink on a page.

You have just got to accept that your self perception is betrayed by an unforgiving lens. Try airbrushing all the world does it.

Perhaps you can't face the fact that the camera is telling the truth :)

I'm sure you are not ugly. There is only bad photography and a wrong perception of yourself.
