It's from their perspective I get the most nervous about... why would they leave their most precious treasure in the hands of some unknown girl? How did they come in contact with you? Did you get referred to them by some family member?

If you replied to a newspaper ad asking for a one night sexy babysitter then I would be cautious too :)

Stop! right there, you just broke ten of the top rules for baby-sitting but, you've stepped forward and admitted it.
I could think of a hundred things that could go wrong before you've even started.

Set up a meeting first: go see the people, meet the kids. See how old they are, what kind of disposition they have. Are there any medical problems, advice that's special they might have.

I house sit and, baby sit for five kids, two are four month old twin girls that have feeding problems. You'd be tearing out your hair if you had to watch them, within the first hour.

I know a young girl that got trapped like this: they had a 14 year old boy that was Autistic, deaf and blind: That's the truth. The girl, within the first hour had to be hospitalized after the encounter. The parents didn't tell her the boy attacks people, especiall strangers and tries to choke them, he wets his pants, the twelve year old baby sitter was expected to change him and, he damages things. This is all the truth and the parents didn't tell the baby sitters they hired.

This is extreme but, it can and does happen. Your going to have to change your tactics if you want to do this type of work.

Learn to bring coloring books, colors crayons. Books that fit the age groups. Find out the likes and dislikes, the allergies of the kids. The bedtimes, the habits of the kids. There's a lot to learn. Good luck.

How old R U? If U R young enough tell your Mom where you R going. How old R the kids U R going 2 sit 4? Tell a friend or family member where you'll B. Address, phone number the peeps first and last names etc. Call a Friend as soon as you get there and all that good stuff. Honestly, having 3 children of my own I would NEVER let a stranger baby sit my kids. If U feel uncomfortable BACK OUT!!!

Did you advertise for the job? How did they know? Make sure you tell your parents or someone where your going to be, and what time your going to be home. And yes sometimes it goes this way, if someone else has put you two together with each other. Someone has told them you do baby sitting. Find out who said? Write down their name and address somewhere, and a phone number. Leave it at home so someone can find out where you are just in case something gos bad. Take a phone with you.

Take a cell phone and have someone you trust call you every 15 minutes in the first hour . Will the people come for you and return you home ? If so, call a trusted friend on the way home , and keep them on the line until you are safely home .

i really wouldn't worry to much- if you are there to look after there children then they are putting there trust in you. They may be more scared than you are as they don't no you and it is there own children. I think you will be surprised tomorrow when you meet them, as i am sure they would be very genuine people so don't worry yourself over nothing!
