many people do not realize that some forms of birth control, i.e., the i.u.d. (i'm not sure but it may only be one of the two models) and the progesterine-only birth control pill, are not contraceptives, but abortificients. meaning, they do not prevent pregnancy: they work by expelling fertilized eggs. this isn't about abortion: it is about our right to know this. women are being given these forms of birth control and not being told this is actually what they do. regardless of her beliefs on abortion, is it healthy for a woman's body to routinely fertilize and sterilize eggs??
