At this point in time it is the leadership of the U.S.A that wants to impose our type of government on the world, it is not the American people and in fact most of the American people are against this form of imperialism.

If the USA were as everyone is claiming, they would have already bombed every country in the world and taken over, but this has not happened. Sure, the USA makes mistakes, as everyone does. Perhaps they should not have gotten involved in the war in Iraq, but one thing we can say is, they got Saddam, so it is not all bad. Although they should not have gone there, they cannot just leave or else there will be attacks on USA soil once again.
Maybe your question should be: Why are there so many crazy people who want to harm Americans for no apparent reason?

In most cases because we were asked. When the UN formed we were voted into perminent members of the Securtity council. When the World Bank formed we were asked to be part of it. In WW1 we were Asked to join, the same with WW2. 9Then we were attacked and went in anyway) In Korea The UN asked Us for forces. In Vietnam we were asked and Left 50,000 of our sons and daughters there. In gulf 1 and 2 The UN asked us again and we said yes as it was right. Since we give more Aid than all other countries combined and offer our armed services to American interests around the world that is tthe answer to your question, like it or not.

If Iran had the most natural resources, the strongest military, the most technology, the most food, the strongest economy, a nation of 300 million and was completely isolated from its enemies how dominating would they be? The United States has been called the melting pot of the world. It is made up of people from other countries and therefore, the interests of their origins are more varied than most other nations.
Many still have families in their homeland. Many people, with the exception of politicians, are interested in seeing that their families have the same oportuniteis that we have in the U.S.A...

I won't say dominating, I would say more like a bunch of church ladies meddling in everybody Else's business. It has been like that every since I was a kid. For some reason the U.S. can't keep it's nose out of other countries business.
However now it is the only super power left since the impulsion of the Soviet Union.
