Well there is a trick to that first. Now the best graphic card I like is the Nvidea 8800 which is the top of the line.
Now if you can email me how much money you want to spend and if you are in the US, I can send suggestions. Also what do you plan to do with it mostly. If you are a gamer of course you want a serious graphic card. But then if solitaire is the best you will do then you do not need the expensive fast graphics card.
But if not, then go to these sites and they have topics on buying a computer and what to look for.
For example, you would get a computer that is core 2 dual instead of dual core. Core 2 dual is the improvement over the dual core. So that means if you buy the Core 2 duo computer then your computer will last a little longer than the dual core. Maybe getting something that will have a 4 Gb max memory capacity. All these little things you will learn. I have read them all because I got my income tax refund of about $1000 coming in about in 6-8 weeks, then I will go from PCI computer to PCI Express computer with quad core. Buy your computer with the ability to upgrade later.

here is the think. how much are you wiling to spend on GPU(graphic card) at present the top of the order is 8800gtx but its over priced and is a diretx 10 card which will require vista too but if its is causal gaming then anything from 7600 t to 7900 will do depending on price but if you can wait for say a month ati will launch 2800xtx which is a 8800gtx killer and beside 8800gtx is working like a dog in vista . also 2800xtx is having 1 gb of DDR4 ram at 2.2ghz and 750mhz that`s all lot moe than 8800gtx including xxx version and its cheap 600$.

depends on your graphic interface(a.g.p or pci-express) but as yours is a new p.c it will probally be pci-express
for under £50 i would recommend the geforce 7300gt(http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-032-BG) a very good card for the price with a good 375mhz core clock and 256mb of ddr3 memory running at 700mhz
for between £50 and £100 i would go for the radeon x1650pro iceq(http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-066-HT),this has 12 pixel shader processors and a 625mhz core clock, with 512mb of ddr3 memroy running at 1.4ghz this card will eat up your games
for £100 to £200 the card of choice has to be the nvidia geforce 8800gts(http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-021-EA),although this is not a gtx model its still direct x 10 compatible and with a core clock of 575mhz and 320mb of gddr3 memory running at a massive 1700mhz,this card is totally future proof, its also the first card to feature pixel and shader model 4.0
the 8800,s have replaced the pixel pipelines with stream processors, these are much more programmable than the older pixel pipelines, and this technology is that new that there are no games avalible that come even close to utelizing these amazing specifications
my advice is go for the 8800gts if you can afford it,like i said previous, its not the best of the 8800 series but its one hell of a graphic card, allthough you will need to make sure it will fit in your p.c case
the others are excellent choices aswell
i hope this helps you decide
good luck
