1. For lining the top lid, use your non-dominant hand to pull the skin on the top of your eye taut, and then apply your eyeliner with your dominant hand. It may help to rest your dominant hand against your face as you apply it to help with control and support. It may take you a few attempts to get it right, but practice makes perfect!
For the bottom of you eye, again rest your dominant hand against your face to line, and use your the other hand to help keep the lower lid taut.
2. I use an eyeliner that has a mechanical, twist-up-pencil type tip. I find that these are the easiest to apply!
3. Use short feathery strokes instead of trying to draw one solid line.
4. Keep your eye slightly open. I tilt my head back and look at the mirror with both eyes open. That allows you to get very close to your eyelash line.
5. If you use a pencil or crayon type liner, instead of a liquid one, put the line on and use a cotton bud tip to smooth out the line. This makes it a lot easier and quicker, and you don't have to worry about getting it right first time, it also makes the line subtler.

6. Applying eyeliner half way along the bottom lash line makes your eyes look rounder and more defined. Don't worry too much about a straight neat line; simply smudge the line with a cotton bud or your finger so it's soft and natural looking. Use Kohl pencils for the inner rims.

well, it really depends on what type of eyeliner you use. most important is PRACTICE. I'm not kidding. I used to wear eyeliner all the time at home on the weekends just so i could practice. pencil: i don't use the ones you sharpen, just the twist ups. i always start at the inner corner of the eye and just draw as close to the eyelid as possible. pencil is pretty straightforward, it's not that difficult liquid: the brush for my liquid eyeliner is thick at the base and then tapers at the end. so, i place the eyeliner brush flat against my eye and then i push the eyeliner brush against my lid, lift the brush, and then push it again. like a series of connected dots, if that makes any sense. this way allows for an line that is evenly thick. i've also found that if you pull the outer corner of your top lid out to the side (kind of make ur top lid into "asian eyes") it flattens the lashline out so all you have to do is draw a straight line and when you let go, the eyeliner is in the sahpe of your eye for the outer corner i usually just leave my eyes open and draw but my best advice, is just practice. oh yea, and put some lotion on a q-tip to correct any mistakes

To be perfectly honest, I don't believe that one can put on eyeliner perfectly without a real talent or some sort of training in makeup! I always liquid or kohl eyeliner as best as I can then I use a damp cotton bud to erase my mistakes. Works like a charm everytime!

You just need to practise. After you have done it 5 or 6 times it will seem easy. I've been using it for years and i can do it with my eyes closed now.lol

try using a soft pencil, and pull your eyelid to the side. i find having a ciggie beforehand helps cause it stops my hand from shaking.. lol
