I feel sorry for you. The heart of your unborn child has stopped. Your unborn child has died before ever being able to experience life. The one true gift in this is that your child felt no pain. The other gift is that you can be assured that is was nothing that anyone did to cause this. I hope that you might be able to take comfort in the fact that this seems to have been something which is GOD's doing and not that of man. I hope this conforts you, if only in a small way. If you wish to talk, feel free and I can tell you the reasons for my answer.

At 4-6 weeks, the embryo doesn't have a heartbeat yet. The heart doesn't start beating until around 6-8 weeks.

It is not clear how far along your wife is- but for that person who said the heart does not start to beat until 6-8 weeks is wrong- scientifically proven- the baby's heart beats at 21 days after conception. If your wife is 4-6 weeks pregnant the baby's heart is already beating? Has she had an ultrasound?- if you feel that the baby's heart is not beating I would immediately take her to the ER -because they can determine if your wife is having a miscarriage- I will be praying that your baby is ok-

I believe that abortion should be an option for women. I do not, however, believe that it's okay for women to keep having sex, and then having an abortion. THAT is murder. But, a lot of women are too young to have children, in which case they should have kept their legs closed, but they didn't. And, for some women, it's not healthy for them to carry a baby, or an abortion could save a baby from a hard life. Such as lack of money, food, shelter, etc. Or the baby could have a disease that would eventually kill him, slowly and painfully. In which case, an abortion could save him from that, and save the parents form having to witness it. Or, in a lot of cases, a man or women are supposedly unfertile, and therefore had not planned on a pregnancy, and didn't have the resources for a child. IN which case, abortion is perfectly acceptable. The whole 'Abortion stops a beating heart' is correct, it does end a life. But you can't judge all abortions as being bad, without knowing the story behind it. It's a very touchy subject for a lot of people.

Is your wife 6weeks pregnant or 5 months?
Please take your wife to a good doctor or midwife.
you don't seem to understand the basics of how a baby grows and survives.
How did you find out the heart stopped beating? If a ultrasound was performed by a qualified sonographer/doctor or midwife - please find one that will explain things so you can understand.
If checked by an unqualified person please find a good doctor or midwife and be checked properly.
Babies move around, it is sometimes difficult to hear the heartbeat even for qualified people.
Hope everything turns out well for you both, best wishes

Sounds like she is having a miscarriage. sometimes the baby doesn't develop correctly and the body will abort it, resulting in a miscarriage. Its not that it dies but more like it stops developing. Having experienced 2 myself it is a sad time but don't give up, try again.
