When you put in the hard drive I bet you are getting space from your other drive in there. There is a slave and master controls for the hard drive and there are setting you have to do.
Email me and let me know this
Brand name and model of computer. Name and brand of hard drive. Who installed hard drive.
How many hard drives in computer now. I presume you added the hard drive to the computer now.
Send this info and I can tell you what to do. I was wondering if you accidentally formatted the hard drive and divided it into two partitions. It is possible.
Anyway, send the info and I will send you info. Too long to explain now.

What up bud,
Had the same issue installing a 500 gig a little while back, you need to update the controller drivers on your pc, if you have XP download SP2 or go the Manufactures site and download driver, most likely you got a disk with the HD install the driver from there if possible... have a great day hope that helped alittle

Check the jumper settings on the back of the drive, if they are wrong, they can restrict the size. Also did you do a fresh instal of Windows?, if so you may have only formatted pert of the hdd.

feels like 2 drives have an identical settings (grasp on the two) and clearly it tries besides from 120GB force. What you're able to do is bypass away 12GB placing by myself (as grasp) and set the 120GB as Slave. you're able to do away with somewhat black jumper in the lower back of HDD to a clean place. there is not any drivers needed for Seagate force, domicile windows would have the flexibility to format complete 120GB devoid of subject.

Make sure your CMOS / BIOS settings are set correctly to accommodate your new drive. Also depending on the age of your motherboard you may need to update its BIOS. After these have been confirmed make sure the jumpers on your hard drive are set correctly as well. Most drives have the appropriate settings on a diagram on them. Also check to see that your motherboard doesn't have any special jumper configurations to support that hard drive.
