Smallness of stature is often synonymous with weakness. Not true, of course, but there it is.
I believe tallness is only coveted by short people. Most of the really tall folks I know want to be shorter. Go figure.

This is a generalization. It's not whether someone is short or tall, it's how others perceive them. It can be caused by anything from environment or social situation. If a person is comfortable in themselves it shows.

When we needed people to go into tunnels in search of enemy, short people were respected for their courage and ability to go into small tight damp dark scary places.
