The UN must be world government that can compel member countries to follow the rules of international law. Otherwise, it will be a useless organization if the member countries disregard its propositions.

It should suffer total meltdown and let all of those crooked little ambassador's go home!! The UN is nothing more than a tiger that everyone thinks is a big deal, but actually has no teeth or claws. 17 RESOLUTIONS Saddam ignored and they still wouldn't act on it or give President Bush any support and this was AFTER 9/11. We would all be better off if each country were responsible for it's own contributions to other countries disasters or problems. Why just keep shoveling money over to a group that we already know is filled with corruption and notorious for no action. We don't need the money that we dump into the UN anywhere else?

My impression of the United Nations is they are a paper tiger, entrenched in corruption and provides nothing of benefit to the world.

If I had the power, I would make them accountable for their existence. The USA should not be shouldering the costs of the UN's folly's and should force accountability between other countries. I would not be paying the "bills" for the organization when others should be doing so. If they can't carry their own weight, shut them down.

The USA needs to start doing things smartly. They cannot continue to shoulder the world's burdens. The American people are getting tired of the costs. Things have to change and I believe they will be changing in this generation. People are getting fed up with the folly of the UN and the USA trying to do the right thing on a global scale.

If you look at the history of UN, right from it's inception it has always played the role of an US agent or an underdog. All nations should unanimously pull out of this impotent organisation of crooks and let it die a natural death. It's time India, China and Russia started leading the nations.

The stated goals of the United Nations are to prevent war, to safeguard human rights, to provide a mechanism for international law, and to promote social and economic progress, improve living standards and fight diseases. It gives the opportunity for countries to balance global interdependence and national interests when addressing international problems. Toward these ends it ratified a Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948.

UN should be disband, it was a good idea in theory. However, it has no power and many countries that are members are dictatorships and violate human rights.

The U.N. should be abolished entirely.

It has become little more than a 3rd World Mutual Admiration Society...for which we pay the bills.
