addiction which in sugar's case is just a minor activiation of desire/pleasure zone of the brain which is pleased by the sucrose/fructose chemical though sugar cravings and most others on last 8 to 10 minutes, so if you can get past that you are probably ok also, you might just be thirtsy for water for some reason the brain isnt smart enoough all the time to distinguish between wanting sugar, hunger and thirst
