Hello guys, I have a dell E510 which, due to the restrictions of budget, im spiffing up and rehashing to make it the best it can be instead of buying a whole new computer.
I currently have a PNY GeForce 7900GT with 256mb video card, but I want to upgrade to a direct X 10 card when the time is right.
Should i get the 320mb 8800 GTS (this is the only card of the G80 series that will fit in my case) or should i wait for ATI to come out with its card?
For that matter do you guys expect ATI's direct x 10 card to be better, when it does come out, and should i wait for it?

well ATI has X2800XTX which is a killer in all ways .. its cheap 600$ it has 512 bits memory DDR4 2.2ghz ram and core having 750mhz .. it is a direct x 10 card . by the way Nvidia is gearing up since its not having drivers under vista ( it has but nvidia gpu works like a dog under vista )..

I'm sure ATi has something mean and fast up its sleeve, hence the delay into the DirectX 10 game, however you can be sure that the resulting card will be a power hungry monster so compatibility may be an issue..
Your best bet is to wait and see, if the ATi is incompatible with your system, the nVIDIA prices will have gone down and you can opt for the nVIDIA, else the ATi will most definitely offer a reasonable performance edge.
