Seen a broke down one that's for sale.

And it's not the combo unit. Washer & Dryer all in one. Put the cloths in to wash and take the cloths out when dry.

Yeahhhh ! i bees seein one like dat ! it was on " The Price is Right " i bees thinkin dat was in 1953 ! My fren Rollo bees knoing apllance repairs. He bees fass and cheap ! If you gots some Colt 45s where you stay , i will come wid him .
Maybe we can be tokin and chillin wen Rollo is wurkin. I knows you gone like me !

The only one I am familar with was called the Combo made by Whirlpool for Sears in the 60's. Parts became unavailable in the early70's. I would discourage you. Even if it isn't a Combo. There is one made in Sweden. They are expensive to repair and it's hard to find someone to work on it. There is also a parts problem. Everything would have to be ordered

I would think the brand name and serial No would be important when looking for parts.

We had one in 1954, made by Frigidaire's, I think it weighed over 500 lb, I remember having to beef up the floor of the utility room, the first time I turned it on, it shook all the dishes out of the kitchen cabinets.

I would not take another one if you paid me good money.

Unless it is a major brand built within the last 10 years, the efficiency & parts availibility for it will be issues.

These are still made for small apartments and other tight places. Repair parts should be available, but not knowing what is wrong with the one you saw, it may not be a good deal.
