I hope the first answerer was joking. Pentium 4 is 3 or 4 generations back compared to Core 2 Duo. Dont buy into the megahertz marketing ploy that intel created a long time ago. The CPU performance is not based on the clock speed alone, theres some other factors too like how many threads your cpu can execute per cycle etc. Back in the days Pentium 4 was out performed by AMD's Athlon lines. Now the mid range Core 2 Duo beat the most expensive AMD iin most benchmark tests, run cooler, therefore overclockable. There is no way you can compare the Core 2 Duo and the Pentium 4 heh, because nobody give a **** about that pos anymore

I upgraded from a Pentium 4 3.2 Ghz to a Dual Core E8400 3.0Ghz and I got almost exaclty , wait for it , twice the performance . So how much will you actually gain if you upgrade to an E4300 @ 1.8 Ghz , something along the lines of 60%
