I call my son Bubby, and my husband calls him Gordo, but other nicknames i've heard are:

sweetie, honey, sweetcakes, baby bear, baby boy.

Depending on the baby's name or his characteristics you can call him other things, like my sister's baby who squeaks when he laughs/cries is called squeaky, and my other nephew who is only 2 but really tall and skinny is called skeleton, etc. just watch for his characteristics that are unique to him and one will kind of attach itself that you feel comfortable calling him... congrats on your baby!
