People are too thick to realise that they should be taking this action to stop the rot. In general elections too.

Town Halls and the public sector seem to grind on with their left wing attitudes no matter which party is in power. Under this current lefty Government, however, the public sector has grown enormously and so has the council tax.
The Tory party did try to get rid of the old and unfair rating system by replacing it with the 'Community Charge'. At least this was an attempt to have everybody who used local authority services pay for them. It also changed the terminology from 'tax' to 'services', because this is what you are actually paying for. If you don't get satisfactory services, you don't pay for them. Try doing that when it is described as a tax.
However, the town hall and union lefties, not to mention their friends in the media, took to the street and forced the government to back down. Big mistake, never let the mob see that it has power.

Its common for labour councils to hire beyond what is necessary and invent mindless schemes to waste money on.
Even during the poll tax protests of the thatcher government, many didnt realise that it was the local labour councils artificially inflating costs at local level and blaming it on the conservative government. In essence ,labour supporters were being conned by labour councils.
Voter apathy is how new labour got to spend another 5 years wrecking our country.
You must vote.Vote for someone who promises to put right the great council tax rip off.

All British politicians suck. For example, Blair is a corrupt toadying mongrel, Brown is the author of the regressive stealth taxes of the last ten years and David Cameron is tosspot personified.

Voting is the only way to get your say. Voter apathy is so high that those on the council can get away with whatever they want because we can't be bothered to change it. It's too easy to complain and not do anything.

Legislators only want to make higher taxes so that they will have more funds for corruption. Thus, vote only for those who are sincere to serve in the government and who are fighting got tax cuts.

If everyone bought food for a week or so, and stopped going to school, work ,the store, the gas pumps etc the power of the beast would be taken away....and everyone one would only have to work 10 hours a week.

Sounds like a good idea, something needs to be done, perhaps if we all stood together and refused to pay until a fairer system was introduced

No vote, no say in how things are run.
And the increase this year in quite a few areas was under inflation, ie; going down real value.
