The first James Bond movie (1962) was Dr No and James Bond was played by Sean Connery.
Before that (1954) there was an American TV production of Casino Royale in which James Bond was played by Barry Nelson.

The first James Bond film was Dr. No in 1962 and stared Sean Connery as James Bond.
In 1967 Casino Royale starring David Niven and Never Say Never Again in 1983 staring Sean Conneryare excluded, because they are not Eon Productions films, hence not of the "offical" Bond series.
