i worked for verizon sprint nextel and now for cingular and those carriers do not have free incoming texts all but cingular though i think (including t-mobile) has an unlimited plan

Yes most of the time, virtually all major carriers allow free text message reception.

Depends who your carrier is. I know that US Cellular has free incoming text messages. And I believe Verizon does as well.

nope, for example.... you have 500 txt msgs a month... what you send and recieve accounts towards that 500 together.
