Actually they absorb bacteria, salmonella and who knows what else. Spend 5 and get a white plastic one at Wal mart.

To fix it would require soaking it in a sterilized hot water bath for about 6 hours and then applying 4.5 tons of pressure for 12 minutes using a 10 ton pneumatic press with the top and bottom pressure plates heated to around 190 degrees F.

or, you could just buy a new one.

you could always put it through a planer. if it is just a little one your better off to get a new one.

get a plastic one, they are much more sanitary.......
