its cheap but it gets the job done.. my mom has them for her office and her assistants don't have any problems with it.. but they are just using microsoft word and the internet.. but if you need the computer for downloading and playing games and high resolution stuff I wouldn't recommend emachines

don't go by brands of the box, go by the brands of parts that go in the box.

They are made by Gateway. Sort of Gateway's bargain basement brand. They are very basic not good of you are going to be loading a lot of games or any programs requiring a lot of memory. However if you are just looking for a no frills, no bells and whistles basic machine they are OK.

I have one i's ok but I'd wrather go with the parts you buy build a pc or buy a barebones kit
