No, generally aspiring actors/actresses work their butts off learning their craft and schlepping from audition to audition, holding down "survival jobs" that allow them to pay the rent.
The reality is so much duller than the fantasy.

That's largely a myth. Not saying it never happens, but it's extremely rare. I've been acting in L.A. for nine years and the general public has many gross misconceptions about the industry and the craft. That's just one.
