First you have to get the computer name and brand and go to crucial.com and they will tell you what you need to get. The belarc will tell you what you have in your computer. Anyway, if you have max memory of 1 Gb you could add 512 Mb for each slot. But you have to check first.

www.ebuyer.com and purchase a ram stick.
your best purchasing a 512mb stick so when u add it you will have 786mb
also you need to know what kind of ram you have, when the computer is booting the first thing that should come up is the title of the ram, ie. 256mb pc3100, you need that to buy the right ram for your computer. you could also use any freeware hardware diagnostics tool (google that phrase) which will also tell you what brand you have. as for adding the ram once you have it, open the case of the pc, look for the ram slot, its easy to locate because the other ram stick will be there and just insert it and enjoy!

hope this helps

If I remember right the basic package of Windows Vista calls for atleast 1GB of RAM, so you're going to need more than 512. Next go to tigerdirect.com, click on memory / RAM on the left side bar. Then when the next page has loaded click on "memory configurator" and plug in your system information to find the max memory that your system can have and what type of RAM you need.

First off, you dont get 515 you 512! The next logical step is to find out what your PC has in it and if it has an available slot. I can make it easy for you tho! Download Belarc Advisor and run it. It will tell you what your system has and whether there is an open slot. Print this info out and take it with you when you buy!

You would have to get an addition 256 mb or ram or get a 512 ram to fix in the slot and you are ready to go.

You can look up your computer at www.crucial.com, the site will tell you what kind of ram you need, just buy another 256 megabytes of ram.

Also, if you don't know how to physically install ram then learn!! You can find installation guides for installing ram here: http://www.crucial.com/library/index.asp
