First of all, before you call yourself "GOTH", have you done your homework when it comes to the goth culture and what they believe in? Do you want people to call you a poser? I know you are just a kid, but by the way you dress and the music you listen to, you WILL attract the same kind of people that are into that specific style, and they will know and see for themselves, that you like the clothes or you like the music and the lifestyle. There is a lot to learn about every scene. And it takes years literally to really understand EVERYTHING. And they all have their own beliefs. As for your friends, the way you beat them to this, is by knowledge. First like I mention, you learn and educate yourself about the style, the music, and how the movement came about, and where it came from, and their beliefs. So, when your friends "think" they look cool and all, you can ask them what bands they listen to, what they know about the goth movement and so on. And if they know nothing, you don't have to say anything, they will already feel stupid, and probley tone it down. But whatever you do, don't be arrogant about what you learned, there is always someone who knows more. And remember, learn about the music as well, not just the clothes. I am not into goth at all, but when it comes to scenes, its basically all the same information your looking for to learn about it. Read and educated yourself, knowledge is power, power is status. Good luck kid..have fun!

Being Goth is for lack of a better word, lame. I mean, come on! Do you really want to eliminate the brightness in your life through a stupid lifestyle. Besides, Goth kids are the ones that end up shooting up their schoolmates and stuff.

Alright look: Why should you care what people think about your choice of clothes? If you really were a "goth" you wouldnt give a crap okay? btw-dressing in black doesnt make you "goth"...If you even knew what "goth" meant, you wouldnt be asking this question. and what do you mean by "give up thier god"? let them believe what they want...not believing in god doesnt make you "goth" either...

I think it's ok to be yourself. Too many people in this world try to be something they are not. As long as you are true to what you want, and who you are, then all you should do is pity the people who don't know themselves enough to be comfortable with who they are. Too many people try to be what they think others want them to be, and as long as you are not one of those people, I'd be proud of myself if I was you.

Your friends copying you only means they look up to you a great deal. It is very hard to feel flattered when this happens, but you should be happy that you have friends who think that much of you. They may turn out to be very good, lifelong friends. Growing up is a tough process, and you may never feel like you know who you are, but go with the flow, your feelings, ideas, and opinions will change over the years. Go with what you want, as long as you are happy, you should do it, so long as what you choose does not involve physically hurting other people.

you dont have to be goth to wear black. go out of town and buy clothes so they cant buy the same ones. or order clothes online. or thrift shops. and if they dont accept you for being an atheist, then they arent good friends to have, are they? if they are real friends they'll accept you for who you are (and wont copy everything you war, though it could be a compliment).
