I just recently built my own computer and I popped in the Windows XP Home OEM disc and it started going. Well, when the computer rebooted, the installation didn't continue from before. My monitor just went completely blank. Please help me!

OEM software only runs on the particular PC it was meant for to begin with! You cant load it on a system you built!

It would look as if you have blown your video card or you bought a faulty one. Just because it is new doesn't mean that it will work . With a bit of luck you could get it replaced on warranty if you bought it all new as far as OEM xp not working on any other computer this is not true even though when purchasing a computer with an OEM product it is supposed to be for that computer only. As long as you still have the original compute this should be OK but not if you sold it with the OS still loaded on it

it relatively is relatively obtainable that your autoexec.bat report could be corrupted. in case you have the OS disks you may reinstall XP without dropping information. there is not any choose for for a reformat. basically pop your CD in and run it from the CD on Boot. you will might desire to alter the boot order on your bios set up (i think of F2 or F10, looking on your pc. seem on the backside of the show for which key to hit to circulate into set up). in case you bypass in there and re-order your boot series for CD boot then run the Win XP from the CD it is going to ask in case you opt for for to place in or restore. choose for restore and this way it is going to easily overwrite previous or corrupt archives. maximum suitable of high quality fortune.
