If you are against the Iraq War - then you must be "conservative" since the democratic peace theory is liberal ideology.

If you are against "the corporate machine" - then you are, once again, conservative - since free trade and unregulated markets are a product of neoliberal ideology.

If you say "prayer in school and religious monuments should not be enforced by government" then you are very conservative, since liberal theory also suggests that government should enforce morality.

If you are against unwarrented wiretapping, then you are conservative, because conservatives want less government in our personal lives.

So why do convervatives call democrats 'liberal' on these issues? Sounds hypocritical - doesnt it?

Classical Liberalism gave birth to democratic peace theory, limitations of government and economic policies with heavy emphasis on free markets. See writing of Immanual Kant, Adam Smith, David Ricardo, Jeremy Bentham, and John Stuart Mill, and other liberal thinkers. Do YOUR homework, you "conservatives".

Why are conservatives called conservative when they don't conserve much at all? They seem only to be the opposite of generous, open, and free.

What is it exactly the Conservatives wish to conserve? The priveleges of the White Male? The Anglo-Saxon patriarchal traditions? The enslavement of non-whites? The traditions of ideas of racial superiority?

Oh, I think you can answer a question with another question. Sort of like adding enzymes to something to hasten a chemical process.

I wear my badge of liberalism proudly, modern liberals believe in the constitution, It was written as more then a guide line, it is a wonderful document. Separation of church in state, freedom of speech, however I did not see free trade, and unregulated industry's in there. But I do agree that conservatives are hypocrites, the constitution is not a living document to be change to serve ones best interest as it is done by the neo-conservatives today.

maximum folk sense that their very own political comments are logical and lifelike. maximum folk sense that clever human beings viewing a similar information and situations that they see might come to a similar logical conclusions. whilst human beings come to diverse conclusions, it relatively is therefor organic to anticipate the the different individual is erroneous simply by fact they're mentally defective or thoroughly uninformed. Democrats and liberals make a similar assumptions approximately conservative and republicans.

You're confusing Conservatives with neo-cons. Neo-cons are Trotskyites masquerading as Conservatives.

It may be that the definitions of Conservative and Liberal have changed over the decades, but since the beginning of the 20th century Conservatives tend to be pro-business, anti-regulation, pro-religion, anti-diversity, pro-military, anti-environment, while Liberals tend to be anti-military, pro-labor, pro-environmental, pro-regulation, anti-religion (influencing policy making), pro-diversity. However, nothing is a simple black-and-white scenario, so there are going to be politicians of both parties that are a mixture of both.
