This does happen for the first many times. For me it did. This is normal and eventually gets better. It seems that you may have already done this. So I want to help you. There are allot of issues you must learn before engaging so please ask all questions. If you ask because you have tried this.. The pain may be from being tense nervous or maybe too dry and need a water based lubricant..Your body should make this for itself as you become more comfortable. You would have to go slow and not too fast.Let your body adjust to these new things you are totally normal. Everyone's bodies are different some take more time than others.
