Why it's very rare when i have my periods on time?

My periods are late by 8 days... no, i'm not pregnant!! 100% sure!!
Im 28 years old and since i was an adolecent, i always had an irregular cycle, between 33-40 days, sometimes longer...
I took for about 8 months the contraceptive pills, and thanks to them i had quite a regulare cycle, but just after i stop taking them, i'm back to my irregular cycle...
Do you think that my irregular cycle will have an effect when i decide to have a baby?
Should I do some blood analyses?

See your doctor. I am currently going through something similar. I just had a blood test and I'm waiting for the results. Up until 2 years ago my periods had always been regular. Then, instead of every 28 days they gradually came every 30 days, then 32 days and now 34 days. Now they only last 1 1/2 - 3 days. I have many other symptoms as well. I am 37 and not pre menopausal. Several factors can lead to irregular cycles such as Hypothyroidism, and problems with the pituitary and hypothalamus, all of which regulate hormones in your body. Your doctor will probably check your TSH and T4 levels as well as prolactin levels, etc. Are you having any other symptoms? I don't know what type of affect this could have on conceiving. I would talk to your doctor and discuss your concerns.

You might have to fight with your doctor on this one. I have learned that levels of hormones in the thyroid have a lot to do with this. Start by asking for a "thyroid panel" (blood work)..check the pituitary glad next and then the hypothalamus next. All of the above affect you in this way. Stress can also be a factor, but I have yet to see proof of that. An underactive thyroid can make havic on you. Yes, this problem will make it hard to pick a time to plan a baby, but not keep you from having one.

it's probably regular for you.. everybody's body works differently, it won't effect you having babies and i wouldn't worry about having tests done. if you are really worried talk it over with your doctor, but i would say that is just how your body works.

go on birth control pills, it will regulate it. you simply will not be regular any other way, hormone levels are out of whack. yes it will make it harder to get pregnant since you will never even guess when your most fertile time would be.

My daughter has the same problem and we are getting her checked for thyroid problems. She also gets very bad PMS that lasts for weeks.

i'm sure ur not lyk every other girl that hav regugular menstration....
there are girls whose menstration cycle is irregular... jaz lyk me...
an example is:

ur period is on feb. 23 now its going back on july 23...
