Well both are good options I had c-section with my first and now I am pregnant with my second and going for vaginal. C-section you don't have any pain. Longer recovery and there is a risk of infection (just like with all other surgeries) Vaginal painful but can try the epi, if baby is too big might need and then to cut you so baby can come out vaginally. But recovery time is alot faster than the c-section. Also remember that even if you choose to do vaginal there is a chance that you have to be in labor for hours then have c-section. This is what happened to me. It is your choice. Do what your heart tells you to.

I know everyone says OMG cesarean is sooo painful, it wasn't but i hated the fact that when you have a c-section you don't really get to enjoy the first holding cus you're so weak at that moment cus everything from your boobs down is practically numb, you don't get to see your baby for almost an hr after you gave birth! It sucks, but the only reason i went through a cesarean is because they said she was going to be a big baby and she could possibly die, and i didn't want to take that chance not for one second. It doesn't hurt, if you have to have a c-section and there's a possiblity the baby could have complications, get a c-section. If everything is fine just have it naturally. You should only have a c-section if it is absolutly nessicary. If you have to have one, don't freak out. It's not as bad as ppl lead on.

Cesarean deliveries are not supermarket products.

They are a last resort. If for some reason vaginal birth is not possible or there is risk to the infant then a Cesarean will be performed. I have heard some of my colleagues doing Cesar's when they are going to be away at conferences but i consider this irresponsible practice.
There is often a high risk of mortality to the mother( surgical shock, sliced ueterus and other organ damage) as well as huge infection risks. Yes i know there are hundreds performed everyday and many are OK but do you want to risk being the 1 in 1000?

If this is your first child I say go for the enjoyment of seeing that little one coming out vaginally. It was a feeling I could never compare. You can choose what option you would like but just be certain that's what you want because if you choose cesarean, that's it. Anymore kids come along you will have no choice but cesarean because of the risk of reopening your incision during childbirth. Also check with your doctor to see what is best for your body. Certain heart conditions might and narrow pelvis bones might prevent natural childbirth. So even though you might want to choose, in the end you might not have a choice. Weigh your options, talk to your health provider and be certain before you get too far along.

Natural is the best option.
Cesarean's should be left for emergencies mainly due to the fact that for every cesarean you have, the number of children you can have goes down due to the mother's body becoming more sensitive to tearing and other complications.

I know many opt for cesarean due to the pain of natural birth, but there are medical options.
Your doctor will be able to help you with pain treatments (e.g. Entonox is a popular one) but that really is your choice because some mothers prefer not to use medications when giving birth.

It really should be your choice with whatever your truly comfortable with, just really explore your options.

Congratulations and God Bless you and your family.

Some womyn prefer a natural birth. The advantages are les chance of complications from surgery. For some this may not be feasible, if the labour proves too long.

My wife had our first child by Cesarean, and the second naturally. She is glad she tried both.

I have never had a cesarean and wouldnt want to. I have had all of my children natural. I cant imagine choosing a c section. Its longer healing time, hurts, etc...After a natural birth, you up and moving around and for me, I was in absolutley no pain once the baby was out. It was nice to be able to just get up and move around freely without being in pain and take care of the baby. The only thing I had pain with at one time was the episiotomy, but I didnt have that with my 3rd baby and felt great. Just think, your wife have to take care of the baby, feed it, lift it, etc... I think natural is better, unless you need a csection for medical reasons.

C-sections are usually done when there is risk of complications during the latter part of the pregnancy or when labor/dialtion don't progress. You don't get to pick unless she has had a C-Section previously. And just a hint...it's not what is better for you and your wife that count...it's what is best for the baby and I'd say less selfish parents at this point.

Natural. You should only have a cesarean if there are problems. A cesarean shouldn`t be a choice.

Natural all the way!! quicker healing for 1 thing
a c section is major surgery why go through that if you don't need to.
i do not think most doctors will let you decide but you don't know till you ask but personally i would NEVER have a c section unless there was a danger to me or the baby
