people tell me I "watch too much Seinfeld", yet, they know what I am talking about, suggesting they watch it as well. The questions I ask, arn't "obvious Seinfeld", so the avergae Joe usually doesn't know what I am talking about.
Whaaats the deal with these people?

This is due to the fact that many of the lines used in the various Seinfeld episodes have become so well known and used by everyone that even a complete anti-dentite knows all about shrinkage.
