What does this brown discharge mean? here are the dates of my periods: 10/19, 11/20,(skipped dec...very high stress), 1/4, 2/6. Since Feb 6th, i got my period but it wasn't like i usually get one...it was lighter and the color was brownish-reddish. I experienced the bloating and cramps but they went away within a few hours. I am NOT sexually active, 23 years old, had first period when i was 13. The thing that is scaring me is that this brown crap is still coming out...i thought it ended by now, but its still coming...you need a pantyliner. there is an odor to it. Im thinking its an infection...
what i want to know is...what is this? why this is happening? and, is it serious?
i have deoxycycline for acne...should i start taking those???
please help.

Different Types of Discharge :
White: Thick, white discharge is common at the beginning and end of your cycle. Normal white discharge is not accompanied by itching. If itching is present, thick white discharge can indicate a yeast infection.
Clear and stretchy: This is "fertile" mucous and means you are ovulating.
Clear and watery: This occurs at different times of your cycle and can be particularly heavy after exercising.
Yellow or Green: May indicate an infection, especially if thick or clumpy like cottage cheese or has a foul odor.
Brown: May happen right after periods, and is just "cleaning out" your vagina. Old blood looks brown.
Spotting Blood/Brown Discharge: This may occur when you are ovulating/mid-cycle. Sometimes early in pregnancy you may have spotting or a brownish discharge at the time your period would normally come. If you have spotting at the time of your normal period rather than your usual amount of flow, and you have had sex without using birth control, you should check a pregnancy test.

This sounds like old blood. Newer blood for a period is red. But I agree with the other posters about going to your OB/GYN to be on the safe side to make sure that it's not an infection.
Sometimes the infection can have bleeding too. I've had experiences where this happened.

Might be that you are spotting in between periods or that it's the beginning of your period. Your cycle might be a little thrown off from stress. Worse case scenario.. see a doctor, but I am sure ur fine. if it was anything to worry about it wouldnt be brown it would be like green or some other nasty color.

Almay has the bright i-coloration line for Brown eyes (additionally Blue, Hazel and eco-friendly) the Brown eyes set includes a pink eyeliner, a gloomy pink mascara and pink and brown eyeshadows. I even have brown eyes and have continually found pink-y colors to make my eyes pop whether i purchase Almay or no longer. i comprehend that Wal-mart each and every so often has a p.c.. with all 3 parts on sale for around $10. Eyeliner continually enables and a gloomy coloration (black, dark brown, dark pink, dark eco-friendly, etc) on the two suitable and backside lids will make everybody's eyes stand out. (I advise seem how extensive-unfold guy-liner is!) outfits is a sprint harder to assist with in view that lots is according to hair coloration and pores and skin tone. I even have dark hair and medium pores and skin and get lots of compliments once I positioned on maroons, pinks, and lavenders. solid success!

try to see your OB , it happened before to one of my pal and it was an infection. Some infections doesn't really need to have odor sometimes they are odorless.
And stop taking those acne pills for a while and try to ask your DR first before continuing using the pills, or maybe its the side effect caused by the pills.
The safest & best thing to do is set an appointment to an OB while its still early.

Go to your gyno, but to be honest i don't think it's an infection... sometimes the brown discharge is old blood from your last period... Have it checked out anyway if you're worried...
Good luck!

First thing is to relax. It probably is not serious at all. Next...go see your gynocologist. Do not treat yourself with antibiotics. You can actually develop a vaginal infection from taking antibiotics. It is called a secondary infection. Hope this helps.
