when you smell blood, it stinks bc of the iron in the blood. iron. yes the metal. iron is a noun. so you could say "the stinky smell of iron" or something like that.

I don't know about a noun. Whenever I smell or taste blood (I bite my lip a lot) it smells/tastes...rusty.
