What do i do when iam itimidating to people but iam not trying to be?

All the time when i meet people, they make jokes about how i look like iam about to beat up someone. Iam not mean, iam big but i dont look scary, Iam nice to people and i am shy so what makes them think iam agressive. started to think it was because i lived in a small town with no diversity, but idk. Kids at my school told new kids not to talk to me. I cant get a boyfriend because i guess i seem intimidating, and its not like im ugly . Sometimes boys would try to flirt with me but their friend told them not too. Its really weird, im not sure how to explain completely.

first off, slow down your speech.
And secondly sometimes silence is the best answer.
I guess you could also act like you're not intrested play with your hair. And try to pull a reaction from the person who is doing all the conversation.

Do you intimidate people? Maybe you are very frank and outspoken and startle people with your honesty. People don't know how to handle that and they will avoid it.

Do you have a sarcastic sense of humor? That can put people off, too.

Do you have stern eyebrows and a gight jaw.....like you are tough and you don't even realize it?

I had coworkers complain to my managers that I was hard to work with and not friendly. All the time I thought I was the quiet and nice person in the department.

It got so bad....we all had to talk it out as a department. I was so embarassed to have to sit there and listen to it....but there it was.
I had crossed eyebrows and tight lips. I was nervous at work and concentrating....and they all thought I was angry and mean.

It's a matter of perception. You are doing something unintentionally. Smile more.....smile in a way that causes sincere wrinkles around your eyes....raise your eyebrows in a relaxed way. Practice it a little in front of a mirror.

I would just stay silent most of the time, ppl usually just strike up conversations sometimes. Or you could just start talking to someone who seams intresting and try starting a conversation. Sometimes when you're really sarcastic ppl think "oooh, stay away from that one." But sometimes sarcasticness brings ppl in too cus it's a type of humor. But sometimes being too sarcastic can make ppl seam a little irritated and intimidated. Try smiling more too. Makes ppl have a more pleasnt atmosphere.
